Winter in Alaska's Bush

(grades 2+, families, adults; small or large groups)

This lively 60-minute slide show (45-minutes for school assemblies) demonstrates living in the Bush without electricity, running water, telephones, etc. Emphasis on Alaska's natural history.

Clueless in Alaska: Know More!

(grades 3-6; maximum 50 kids)

This 45-minute program demonstrates book development and production, and reveals the Big Deal about Alaska. We will share show-and-touch items (classroom groups only), and solve a puzzle together.

The Puzzle Process

(grades 3-8; small groups preferred, maximum 100 kids)

This 45-minute program demonstrates my puzzle-creation process, from idea to submission. We will design a puzzle together.

Puzzle Your Way to Publication and Profits

(children's writers, teachers)

Whether you want to get your foot in the publishing door, add fun activities to your curriculum, or boost your writing income, puzzles could be the answer. This 55-minute program demonstrates my puzzle-creation process, from idea to submission. We will discuss markets, submissions, and idea-generation.

Beginning Needlework: Intro to Counted Cross Stitch

(grades 4+, families, adults; maximum 30)

This program can be 45 minutes for classrooms or 2 hours for other events. Learn the first steps to stitching: reading patterns, finding the center of the fabric, handling embroidery floss, stitching the cross stitch and backstitch.

Needlework Design Biz

(grades 4+)

This 45-minute program demonstrates the myriad tasks assumed by an independent needlework designer: idea generation, pattern development, testing, graphic layouts, printing, marketing. Nice addition to Career Day events.
