Termination Dust: Denali and Wonder Lake

Termination Dust PatternNo. 100    “Termination dust” is the first snow of the upcoming winter season, often only a dusting. It announces the end of summer and the impending arrival of the long winter. “Denali” is the native name for Mt. McKinley, and is used by many Alaskans. At 20,320 feet, it’s the highest mountain in North America. The fall colors on the tundra are at their peak, but winter is coming soon.

Fabric: 22-count natural linen
Stitch count: 150W x 109H
Floss: DMC

The Great Outdoors: A Sampler Celebrating Nature & Wildife

The Great Outdoors No. 101    This sampler is all about details. One look won’t reveal them all. The line from the fishing rod F is hooked on the rainbow trout J, and the marshmallow V is alight from the W fire. Animal tracks, footprints, and trees in all seasons surround this outdoor alphabet and camping scene.

Fabric: 22-ct. Antique White Hardanger (1008-101) from Zweigart®
Stitch count: 144W x 224H
Floss: DMC

The Toy Shelf

The Toy Shelf No. 102    Old, familiar toys make up this alphabet. Those are some well-trained ants on that ant farm, making tunnels in the shapes of A, B, C and G, H, I. If you can’t find the T and U, we’ll tell you where to look.

As a gift: Add a child’s name and birth information on the log cabin to make a birth sampler, or create a trucking company name from the recipient’s name.

Fabric: 25-ct. Raw Linen Dublin (3604-53) from Wichelt Imports, Inc.
Stitch count: 144W x 208H
Floss: DMC

Puzzle Pisces

Puzzle Pisces patternNo. 103    Parrotfish, clownfish, and tangs are just a few of the tropical fish in this playful design. Pieces yet to be placed in the puzzle are scattered around the border. A bonus pattern is included so stitchers can choose between the puzzle design and a complete, no-pieces-missing, picture.

Fabric: 28-ct. Antique White Cashel Linen (3281-101) from Zweigart®
Stitch count: 220W x 170H
Floss: DMC

Home is in sight!

Fall, In Pieces

Fall, In Pieces patternNo. 111    Brilliant colors, nature, and puzzles--all the interests and details that define Funk & Weber Designs come together in this follow-up to Puzzle Pisces. Lifelike multi-colored leaves, acorns, berries, tiny "alder cones," a maple seed pod, and a ladybug bring the vivid colors of Fall indoors, without tracking in dirt.

Overdyed threads from The Gentle Art add to the natural look, varying subtly and randomly. I used a "blob" stitching technique to take advantage of the fibers' natural shading ability. Read our Overdyed Threads Tutorial if you'd like to do the same.

The Gentle Art provides a thread pack for this pattern to make fiber selection a snap. Ask for it at your local independent needlework shop.

Fabric: 28 ct. Antique White Cashel Linen (3281-101) from Zweigart®
Stitch count: 185W x 167H
Floss: The Gentle Art, DMC
